I'll make it quick as I know there's a lot going on right now and there's no doubt that we’re all feeling extremely burnt out — and have been for a while. I know I am finding it difficult to stay informed and connected and engaged while balancing the energy and emotional strength my personal life currently requires.
I've gotten so many DM's the last 24 hours about how to address the social and world issues on social media - you can watch that Reel here for some quick thoughts.
If posting on social media feels safe and authentic for you, I encourage you to do so (just make sure you're sharing verified sources and always lift up the voices of those closest to the issue at hand).
Much of my own feed looks very disconnected from reality, from businesses continuing to promote their sales and individuals posting their OOTD (outfit of the day); all of this adding to the “Alice in Wonderland” sense of distortion and unreality.
I truly believe that businesses, brands, and average folks should not stay silent on the issues that truly matter to them. However, this is a time when you must prioritize your mental health. If disconnecting protects your mind and heart, then that is something you need to do.
